Employment Type Full time (regular)
Minimum Experience Experienced

Citizen Action of New York is a statewide grassroots membership organization that fights for social, racial, economic, and environmental justice. We organize in local communities to build power. We collaborate with organizations and coalitions in communities across New York to win on key issues and elect progressive candidates at the local, state and federal levels.

Citizen Action of New York’s strategic approach to achieve our collective vision for a society that works for all of us, not just the wealthy and well-connected, requires us to not only win issue and election campaigns, but to also shift how people across our communities understand the problems that they’re facing as part of those campaigns. After decades and centuries of being told that lies about hard work, free markets, and white supremacy, policy changes need to be paired with education and deeper understanding of how systemic oppression has been woven into the fabric of our society. With that new understanding, we can collectively build the power needed to make systemic change and advance justice.
